It's fair to say that I'm a touch makeup obsessed (okay maybe more than that). Naturally, I was beyond excited to take advantage of Sephora's VIB sale last weekend and pick up some goodies that I've been eyeing for a while. The sale is pretty crazy because Sephora only has a sale twice a year and I definitely plan my shopping around it. I also wait to for the sale to come around before buying splurge items or any luxury products. I've been using all of these products for about a week now and I'm really happy with everything. And of course I will keep you all updated on how these turn out for me. Now let's get into each of these and why I decided to purchase them.
I'll begin with Sephora's Triple Action Cleansing Water. I bought this mainly because I've run out of my Clinique Take the Day Off makeup remover and I've heard a lot of bloggers talking about micellaire waters and how great they are at taking off stubborn makeup. So far, I think that the cleanser does a really great job of taking off my mascara and eye makeup without irritating my eyes, but I don't think it is something I would use on it's own on a regular basis. I like to use this after washing my face to get the majority of my makeup off. And then I would follow up with an eye cream and a night-time moisturizer.
I also picked up a mini deodorant from Lavanila called the Healthy Deodorant. I wanted to test out this product because it's an all natural deodorant that is formulated without any harsh chemicals. Not much to say here, I really like the light vanilla scent and I think that its good for everyday use, but I don't think it's strong enough to use before working out.
I've been looking for a new under-eye treatment that targets puffiness and dark circles and the beauty expert at my local Sephora suggested the First Aid Beauty Detox Eye Roller. I figured there's no harm in testing it out and in the past week I've noticed that it does bring down the puffiness in the mornings, but I can't say for sure if it is improving my dark circles yet. My only complaint about this product is that it kind of stings a little bit and it would most likely irritate sensitive eyes. But it does work better than the eye roller that Clinique makes.
Now on to the more exciting half of my little haul: the makeup!
I went into Sephora intending to pick up a highlighting powder from Hourglass because they are absolutely amazing and they give the most beautiful glow to the skin. However, I saw this dusky mauve blush called Mood Exposure and fell in love! I have a few peach and bright pink blushes and they work well most of the time, but I think I needed to add a mauve to my collection to wear everyday and to pair with darker eye makeup looks. I adore the packaging of hourglass products and this blush is no different. I also love the finish it gives the skin because it will make you look glowly and airbrushed...it's breathtaking. I've been wearing this every single day since I bought it and I don't think I will stop anytime soon.
Another exciting product is Josie Maran's Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadow. I found this eyeshadow really intriguing because I haven't really tested out anything like this before. The color selection is lovely and there's definitely something for everyone in there. I was debating between Playa del Pink and Rio de Rose Gold and ended up picking the former. I think this was a great purchase because it's an easy, everyday product that is quick to use. I simply swipe it on to my lids and blend with my finger to get a pretty wash of color and shimmer. I love pairing this eyeshadow with my new Tarte Inner Rim Liner because it makes my eyes look bright, wide and awake. The packaging is great since I don't have to sharpen the liner and the formula is nice and creamy for easy application.
That's all for this haul (#rhymingskills), but stay tuned for more fashion, food, and beauty posts.
