I consider myself as a city dweller, I love skyscrapers and the concrete jungle. However, once in a while, I think it's great to get away from it all. Earlier this month, I went on a trip with my family and our closest friends to Acadia National Park in Maine. It is a beautiful place and I recommend it for anyone who lives in New England or for anyone who doesn't mind a long drive. This place is great during fall as well because you would be able to see the leaves change colors!
The first day involved a lot of driving, we headed out in the afternoon and stopped in northern New Hampshire to check out the Flume Gorge.
Unfortunately, I had to complete some last minute work for university so I was unable to wake up with everyone and see the sunrise. After I finished my course work, I went out for lunch at Lunt's Gateway Lobster Pound. We then drove to Cadillac Mountain to meet up with everyone to enjoy the view and see the sunset.
This was by far my favorite day of the whole trip. We hiked in the morning to a peak called Bubble Rock. There is literally a rock that is balanced on the edge of the mountain and somehow it just stays there! We grabbed the greatest lunch from West Street Cafe in Bar Harbor. Then we returned to the park to go to the beach and watch the sun set over the Atlantic ocean.
I absolutely loved my time in Maine; this has been one of the best family vacations. I ate tons of lobster and I don't think I will ever forget the moments I shared with my amazing friends. I hope you enjoyed looking through these pictures and are inspired to get out of the city as well.
