In today's post I will be sharing a new favorite winter dressing combination: silky slip dresses and sweaters. If you are like me, and have a difficult time parting with your warm weather pieces, then you have to try this out!
I chose to dress in warm muted tones for this outfit so all the attention could be focused on the different layers and fabrics. You can consider this as another lesson in mixing textures. I've layered a long sleeved silky dress with lace trim underneath this over-sized cream sweater.
A closer look shows that both the dress and sweater have side slits which allow for easier layering and add symmetry to the outfit. I added black tights to keep my legs warm and safe from the cold wind.
(P.S. I'm clutching my own hands because I'm kinda, sorta freezing.)
To finish off the outfit I added these brown lace up booties. I love the tassel detailing on the front of these boots. I also love the embossed chevron pattern; it really makes these shoes special.
Lastly, here's a closer look at my hair and makeup. I have my hair in loose waves (I use a flat iron to achieve the look). For my makeup, I've kept it simple with a touch of blush on my cheeks and a nude lip. I added eye shadow to the inner corners of my eyes to brighten the area and make the eyes look bigger.
