It's been quite a while since I've posted a #manimonday post so I decided to come in full force this week. Fall has hit Toronto rather suddenly because it has gone from 25 degrees and sunny to 10 degrees and gloomy. To cope with this change I decided to add some warmth into my week with this bright and colorful manicure.
This look is inspired by Valentino's fall/winter 2014 collection which featured lots of bright sweaters and dresses with large dots. My favorite piece is the one above. I love how quirky the print is and how Valentino has managed to inject bright colors into fall. Since I can't afford to buy this sweater (or anything else from Valentino); I decided to satisfy myself with a manicure that is reminiscent of the piece.
To recreate this look, start with two to three coats of the Maybelline Color Show nail polish in "Keep Up The Flame". Once it dries, use an old pen or bobby pin to draw three dots down the center of the nail with Sephora's Formula X nail polish in Monumental. The dots should get smaller in size as you go down the nail. I chose to paint on three dots because my nails are quite small but you can add more. As always, this is an easy look that you can customize by changing up the colors and the placement or size of the dots.
